After writing a post or two already.
The debate about dreamtime and what is happining with DT this year.
I would like to hear from all the dreamers out there all 900 or so of you.
What does this thing we call DT mean to you ?
Is it more than a festival?
What drives you to come year after year?
What would you do diffrently to make it better?
But please don't beat up on the orginizers, positive encouragment would be appreciated!
Thank's to all you dreamers who respond your input and opinions are very much needed.
Will.

a test.. and a journey..literally and metaphorically, you see, i live in kansas city. so that's a bit of a drive. so at the moment I get across kansas(flatlands) and start to see the mountains, I start to feel joy again. during those 8 hours... or so ...I have to ask myself, what can I bring to this table? and how can I bring healing to this disconnection. it means stepping back and taking a deep breath, and ...following. something I am not so good at. it means leaving a message on the dreamtime message machine asking for a date so I can finish planning my wedding AND be involved in this incredible space. it means learning not to be afraid of llamas( that look like aliens to me). and taking in all kinds of knowledge that I don't usually get exposed to. It means that there is something greater than me out there, and I can be a part of it, if I am willing to pay the high price of admission, and work my ass off. and confronting methods of dealing with *some* people that I do not like and am not wanting to deal with, and learning some super intense interpersonal conflict resolution, while on a tight time budget. a challenge? you bet. but i wouldn't have it any other way.I believe that the right to make decisions belongs to the persons that have the willingness to invest the most time and/or energy in the cause. it is really easy to critique a leader's actions, until the yoke of responsibility is placed upon your own shoulders. I am probably one of the more vocal individuals, especially for a latecomer and last minute addition to DT. but if it weren't for ASTAR( that incredible welder/metal fabricator) and kamikaze( DPW), I wouldn't have been there at all. I absolutely love those guys. and they were dreamtime to me. i got to meet mariah, and carl. and they were dreamtime. and the people who were willing to volunteer, those were dreamers. what would I change? kitchen procedures/food rules. we need donations for a kitchen. a real pantry and food supply.it would be nice to get one person to secure donations of organic food for the staff, interns, onsite workers before the event..the releasing of the deposits to volunteers was a complete disaster, for sure. we um, need a better system for that.
we need a better method of getting power to the vendors. if we are going to have vendors, they should be involved with the community. and they shouldn't shut down at 8 pm... or so. we need at least one person willing to sell food until say, 11:00. am i food focused? yes. but that is my field. i don't feel comfortable about talking about marketing, or things outside of that. well, that's is my input. the floor is open, thank you Will, for opening this safe space up and keeping it in the positive realm.kimchi ( my DT name- thanks woodstock)

Checking in from WI... I've been promoting Dreamtime continuously since being there last summer. I can't explain what it meant to me easily...but I felt "home" more than i have in years. Multi-dimensional connections spanning time/space, logic, generations - any concept of what we carry inside about the human condition in all of its forms. I continue to be inspired by my DT experience and the amazing people I met there. I carry it with me in my heart/soul and it springs to life at the most unlikely and profoundly needed moments - when I've lost hope, or conviction in the possibilities for a bright future.

Dreamtime means a lot to me...it is more than a festival...it is an amazing, much needed expression of oneness and what is possible. I'm continuing to promote here in the midwest. The vision of DT 08, and the experiences of 07 have kept me going thru this long cold winter! My visits to this Tribe site and the DT website remind me of who I am, what I believe is possible and what i envision the future holds for humanity.
Blessings to all who have held the dream for so long...thru such adversity and challenge. Please - don't give up!
    Mariah
